Concept

This work explores the interplay between the studio and the door, using the concept of the door to challenge traditional notions of the studio as merely a space for writing and work. The door becomes a metaphor for breaking boundaries, inviting new perspectives, and unveiling the hidden ideas and inspirations that thrive within the studio. Through this dialogue, I aim to reveal the studio not just as a physical place, but as a dynamic, transformative space of creativity and possibility.

A door serves as a gateway to hope, despair, and the unknown, inviting exploration and introspection. In my work, players navigate between two cubes, each representing a distinct psychological and emotional realm. One cube embodies an illusory world of imagination—a burst of inspiration within the studio—while the other delves into fear and tension. This second cube features three doors, each symbolizing a different state: manipulation, entrapment, and rebirth. It reflects the anxiety students often face, such as the fear of homework, with suspended eyes in the air metaphorizing the omnipresent pressures that compel action.

Through a large, immersive cube, players are transported beyond the studio environment, engaging with a world that reflects the fluidity of psychological states. Abstract models and floating cubes represent fleeting inspiration and creative energy. When touched, these elements activate interactions: walls emit sound, eyes spin upon tapping, and players can experience moments of surprise and hesitation as they decide which door to open.

This interplay between choice and discovery is integral to the work. Clicking on elements, such as the abstract models, guides viewers to external platforms like Milanote, expanding the narrative. Ultimately, the piece transforms the act of moving between cubes into an exploration of the shifting landscapes of the human mind.
