Hi, I’m Sera, but you can also call me Yuan😉
I’m currently learning Spanish (and would love to find someone to practice with)!
I’m passionate about traveling, watching movies, and anime. I just finished watching Arcane for the third time—feel free to chat with me about it!
I’m always excited to meet people from different industries, hear their stories, and share mine.

My Design Journey Map
I studied oil painting for three years in high school and have continued to pursue sketching as one of my hobbies.
For me, sketching is a form of self-healing. I enjoy using a pencil to quickly outline the thoughts in my mind and relish the sound of the pencil gliding across the paper. I also love experimenting with different materials, carefully bringing out the details in the artwork bit by bit.
Creating art, is a problem-solving process. I constantly compare the outcome with my expectations, adjusting angles, colors, and the detail. A great painting doesn’t necessarily require excessive detail!

My passion for painting earned me a ticket to Pratt Institute, where my creations expanded beyond paper.
At Pratt, I gained opportunities to explore diverse mediums, pushing the boundaries of my artistic expression.
My art evolved from being purely instinctive to more intentional—I began to deeply consider why I create.
This journey has been about finding a balance between inner storytelling and visual expression.
I dove headfirst into reading—devouring books and interviews by Hito Steyerl over and over again.
During this period, my passion shifted toward creating sculptures and working with electronic components.
These unconventional materials held a deep fascination for me, especially Arduino.
I explored countless sensors, captivated by how they translate real-world perceptions into digital signals.

With the rise of AR/VR technology, I began exploring the bridge between the physical and virtual worlds.
For me, modeling and coding on a computer was never daunting—once you master the unique 'language,' you can adapt and innovate.
The release of Meta Quest 3 marked a turning point, where the real and virtual worlds truly started to converge.
My curiosity for new technologies sparked a honeymoon phase with VR, granting me the opportunity to create in Pratt's VR room. The expansive space and cutting-edge tools opened up endless possibilities for experimentation and creativity.
