BACKGROUND

Tongyi Xingchen is a personalized character creation platform powered by Alibaba Cloud’s Tongyi large model.
Beyond conversational intelligence, it features
long-term memory—yet the current interface fails to express this uniqueness.
Users struggle to perceive the value of intelligence through the product experience.

  • DESIGN APPROACH

    • Immersion” andpersonalization” as core principles.
    • Design scenarios that let users feel the model’s intelligence.


    Based on the needs of B-end users, we explored four specific use cases: IP recreation, role-play experiences, professional consultation, and romantic interaction.
    Since the design processes for the other scenarios were somewhat constrained by collaboration with external IPs, I will focus on sharing the design process for romantic interaction.






    MARKET & USER INSIGHTS







    KEY USER NEEDS

    Emotional Fantasy → “I want to feel special and chosen.”
    Immersion → “I want a cinematic, game-like experience.” Personalization → “I want the AI to grow and respond uniquely to me.”





    VISUAL EXPLORATION

    Users showed a strong preference for anime-inspired, narrative-driven visuals. Therefore, we aimed to create a romantic and dreamlike UI aligned with this aesthetic.

    We iterated multiple character designs:

    • 1st Version: Red-haired CEO archetype
    • 2nd Version: White-haired, elegant CEO, refer to Sylus from Love and Deepspace.
    • Final Version: Black-haired “classic CEO,” inspired by Zayne from Love and Deepspace and Victor from Mr Love: Queen's Choice
    To build emotional immersion, we utilized line details, golden sparkles, and subtle breathing animations, as well as starry gradients and romantic lighting effects.








    AI INTERACTION

    Leveraging long-term memory, the AI character evolves.
    Even with the same prompt, responses become more
    personalized and emotionally adaptive.
    For a more immersive experience, we also use AI to generate Live2D animation and
    background music, enhancing multi-sensory immersion.

    A time-based “AI Moments” feed dynamically updates based on dialogue content. It strengthens the illusion of living together and fosters ongoing engagement.

    Direct integration with code preview & one-click replication, enabling faster prototyping and scalability.









    UPDATE DESIGN

    For the other user cases, like IP recreation, we used the same design strategy to create specific experiences. We also updated the whole design based on the new design system. 

    Before: Static, fragmented experience with limited emotional resonance.
